First stop was Wheels & Waves at 'The Tenement of Tenacity', Deus' home in Biarritz. Then the custom built Cool & Vintage x Deus Ex Machina Land Rover Series II traveled 14 hours to reach the Balearic Islands where we celebrated its arrival to Ibiza with a welcoming party that was sunshine, smiles and Land Rover fuelled! Having the yellow ‘Land Marine’ hold pride of place for one week at Deus Ex Machina Ibiza, 'The Island of Future Past' created quite the buzz, enough so to attract visits from the likes of international DJ and motorcycle / car fanatic Carl Cox and Isle of Man ‘fastest on the track’ rider Peter Hickman. But Sunday 23rd of June was our opportunity to present the Deus and Cool'n'vintage creation. This machine comes from a past of being an old fire truck, and in disuse for several decades. It was reconverted without losing the original specifications, continuing its life with an adventurous future, touring the Deus temples around the world. Not forgetting to mention it’s travelling companion - THE first ever official Dakar Rally Yamaha from 1979 that belongs to the Yamaha museum. Land Rovers came from all over the island - so many varying models, colours, shapes and sizes - with all owners spying and respecting one another’s wheels of custom and classic steel. We kicked off at 6pm with a vinyl only hip hop and funk session from local resident DJ Andy Baxter. Andy then passed over to local musicians Pizza 4 Brkst who entertained as always with their energetic live set, then international favourite CASSY took to the decks, dusting off her eclectic collection of vinyls until midnight. The Deus Yellow Land Marine continues its journey… and in the meantime watch this space for more Deus events incoming at Deus Ibiza. Gracias a todos! Photography by Nacho Hernando and Cool & Vintage
