They just don't make commercials like they used to. Take this one for example. In 1973 Honda Japan handed a brand new CR250M to Steve McQueen and let him loose in the desert with a gang of other riders.
A full 5 minutes of tomfoolery, hill-climbs and helicopter shots....I can't think of better promotional material...can you?
